​JKAlphin Photography was born out of the love of my horses and wanting to capture them on film. This amazing herd provides support, love and trans-formative life coaching sessions to many. Your purchase from JKAlphin Photography helps to continue this trans-formative work.
I (Jenny) started Hoofbeats Stables over 10 years ago to take in and re-home horses in need. Hoofbeats has selected some of these rescue horses to serve in their equine based life coaching program. I partner with these horses to mentor and coach the youth, in my hometown of Sonoma Valley, through life's challenges.

In The Moment

Best buddies
April is the most tender and loving of the herd.  When she approaches clients, she moves slowly and intentionally.  She will rest her head close and quietly to you and nuzzle you with her nose. In all of my years I have never met a horse like April. She is a healer.
Dusty and Chay are both geldings and spend much of their leisure time (okay, all of their time is leisure time now that they are in Hoofbeats) being silly together.  They will lick each other, play fight or just take a nap side by side.  Watching them interact is so joyful knowing they both came from backgrounds that did not always permit fun.

Griffy the wonder horse

Griffy was one amazing boy.  He gave his all to anyone who asked.  He was joyful, lighthearted, talented and a favorite at the farm.  Hoofbeats was honored to have him as a part of our family and not a day goes by that we do not think of him. we know that he is running in the wind head on with not a care.  He will forever be in our hearts. Griffy had the kindest heart and most joyful personality. We love you Griffy.
Titan knows exactly how to express himself and set healthy boundaries.   He is not afraid to speak his mind yet gives you all he has when you take the time to listen to him.  He is honest and true.

Wrangler is always up for a new journey and his owner, Joy Lind, has built a special bond throughout their journeys together.  He is kind, sweet, tough yet tender hearted.  He knows to always look to the horizon for new and exciting experiences with his mom.

Chay is a mustang that is funny, jovial, strong and insanely wise.  He loves food of any kind and makes sure he is the center of attention at all times.  He will do anything you ask as long as you are quicker on your feet than he is.  he is always on point and if you fall behind he takes the open opportunity.

Welcome Home

Sassy
Chay is welcoming Sassy, a new rescue, into the herd with such love it overwhelmed us all.  You never know how  a herd will react to a new horse in their herd.  Sassy has some special needs so we were all on high alert until we saw this.  Chay walked over to sassy and began to groom her.  She finally found her forever family and her healing journey could begin.
Sassy, the girl that earned her name.  She is tough as nails yet she has the most beautiful, loving nature when you slow down to listen to her story.  She wants to be respected, heard and noticed and when she feels safe she melts into your heart and gives you hers.

Mr Tough Stuff
Chay and sassy mutual grooming. 
Rascal, Mr. tough stuff!  He is just a big boy with a soft squishy middle.  He likes for everyone to know he is strong and has an opinion.  He is also the horse that will rub against you for scratches and hugs.  He loves for you to move in close and hug him.  He is really good at listening and helping you forget your troubles.

I love you
April, Wizard and Chay share a quiet moment with the wind blowing their manes.  These quiet times are the most healing to our clients.  A true time to ground yourself and "drop off" your baggage.
Junior loves Sassy so much that he shares his meals with her. She does have boundaries and Junior was just a little too mouthy for her during his grooming session.  What a great life lesson for us all, set healthy boundaries.

Keeping Watch
Chay has the most honest eyes, take the time to slow down and really look into them and he will give you his heart.
Dusty, also known as Teddy bear, has always been very aware of what his herd is doing.  He has been a part of the herd from the very beginning and has loved countless humans.  He is strong, kind and a true gentle giant.

Beauty unfolds

Like a beautiful butterfly, the horses that have been helped by Hoofbeats Stables earned their wings to fly and live a healthy life with no more worries or needs.  Within weeks of rescuing a horse you begin to see their personalities return, joy fill their eyes and fear melt away.

Strength to rise

Like a dragonfly emerges from the waters, the horses of Hoofbeats rise above their past and never look back.  They are free to be exactly who they are created to be.  They live in the present moment and represent the amazing process of forgiveness and beauty.
