Rascal was adopted by Jenny into Hoofbeats from his loving owner. He needed a loving home that could give him a job since he was no longer being used as a stud. I think he found the right place. His personality makes everyone smile. He is currently accepting carrots and apples as you pass by. He will remind you if you forget.
Junior is a registered Quarter Horse. He is the Son of Rascal and goes by Junior. His Full name is Rascal Made Me Cool. He is gentle, fun loving, friendly and loves attention. He is one amazing boy. His personality is curious and kind. He is a roaring horse ( partial paralysis of half of the larynx. This paralysis makes a "roaring" type of noise when he is exercised. He is currently only lightly ridden and under a vets care to maintain he health. He has had no issues and is a very happy and silly boy in his herd.
Wizard was rescued from the Petaluma Auction Yard and has learned to love human contact and is now an amazing little red pony (his nickname) that likes to be the center of attention. I knew this little red pony had it in him no matter what others said. His fear was overwhelming and dangerous yet I could see in his eye that he really wanted to be by my side. Giving up on him was not an option. Several years and many life lessons later he is gentle, kind hearted and enjoys rolling in the pasture. He has a beautiful story that is best told by him. He invites your warm embrace and calm energy and a treat or two won't hurt either. Come enjoy the suns warm rays and his fuzzy little muzzle on your shoulder.
Baxter is our newest addition to Hoofbeats. He is kind, social, loves scratches and even offers to scratch your back when you scratch his. He is a quarter horse gelding that stands about 15.3 hands tall. His owner was looking for a loving home for him and we were looking for a riding horse. He is the perfect addition to our family and we look forward to getting to know him and give him the best life he can have forever.
Chay is a handsome 15 hand bay roan mustang. Chay is an amazing boy who embraces the small wonders of our world. His previous owner was looking for a home that would respect his uniquely amazing personality. He has taught his people and herd that he is fun, determined, lovable and at times a tad pushy to get what he wants. He is smart and does not hesitate to assert himself when he feels it is necessary. He is loyal to his friends both human and horse. He always has a smile on his face and a happy gleam in his eye. Chay loves to share the wonders of his world with his human companion from his perspective. Chay is a true joy to share time with.
Emmie is the watcher of all things that move, come and go or carry snacks in their pockets. She is loving, hardworking and loyal. Once she gets to know you she will greet you with exuberance and offer you her prized toy (the big blue bouncy ball). She welcomes everyone to Hoofbeats Stables and makes sure everyone stays in line.
IN Loving memory
April was a beautiful mare that was compassionate, kind and sensitive. She enjoyed basking in the warm sun and when the rains came mud was her best friend. She was the first to welcome visitors and the last to leave somones side. She loved to give warm nuzzles and stand quietly beside people sometimes resting her fuzzy muzzle on their shoulder. She loved grain and would open her mouth as wide as possible and shove her mouth into her morning grain bucket. Her boyfriend, Dusty, watched over her and she found comfort in his company. She will be missed tremendously.
Tuffy was a registered paint gelding that went by the name Tuffy because he was built tuff and strong. He came from a dude string that really did not treat him well at all. They continued to ride him despite him having un-treated cancer and open abcesses on his body. He was treated and carefully watched over by our vet since joining our family. His cancer got to the point that it was making him uncomfortable and we could not remove any more tissue . He had a heart of gold and watched out for his herd mates and was loved by them.
Gus was a 16 hand Thoroughbred cross gelding. He was sweet, kind hearted and a true goofball. He truly embodied allowing his body to go where it wanted to go and do what it wanted to do with no reserve. He had many teachings, one being, allow yourself to just "be". Don't worry so much about what is "right" and enjoy everyday. His lighthearted approach to life was refreshing and uplifting. We truly miss this special boy and are thankful he blessed our lives for the time he was with us. He was loved and cherished by many.
Griffin was the most loving, goofy and tender hearted boy. He gave his all in everything he did and was Dusty's best buddy. They would goof off like two teenage boys. Griffy was loved by so many and our hearts are heavy. He spread love and happiness to everyone that met him. WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU GRIFFY!
Sassy was the sweetest, smartest and most beautiful girl. She had very clear boundaries but once you won her trust she gave you her heart. She was the strongest horse I think I have ever met in my 30+ years of working with horses. She never let her physical ailments slow her down. She loved her grain and belly rubs. Her eyes were beautiful and told a story when you looked into them. It was my honor to care for her and give her the best years of her life.
Zeewas adopted from his long time owner because she needed to devote more time to her family. He was a breeding stud and has many babies on the ground. He was sweet as can be and calm as a cucumber. Even though he was with us for a short period of time, he left us with his love and wisdom. He taught us how to be brave and stay grounded in hard times. He was truly one magnificent boy and our hearts are crushed that his time with us was so brief. We love and miss you Zee.
Dusty the kindest boy who earned the nickname "Teddy bear". He had big, sparkly, kind eyes and his spirit showed through them. He loved his herd mates and would be found nuzzling up beside them in the pasture. He loved to be covered in dirt and show off for his girlfriend April. He was wise and truly enjoyed the company of people. His life was beautiful and I am sure he is running beside April and his other herd mates. He truly had a big tender heart and was loved by all who met him.
